What happens during consultation
Your consultation begins with a focused conversation about your skin concerns, goals, and current daily routine. Sheila reviews any medical or allergy notes you bring, then performs a visual skin assessment to identify dryness, texture, pigmentation, or sensitivity. This is not a medical diagnosis but it guides which products and HydraFacial or other spa treatments may suit you.
At the end you’ll receive a tailored plan that lists recommended at-home products, suggested in-spa treatments, and practical steps to meet your goals. Sheila explains why each product is chosen and how it fits into morning and evening routines, plus any simple pre- or post-treatment care to maximize comfort and results without promising medical outcomes.
How skin is assessed
Assessment focuses on observable markers such as oiliness, dehydration, texture, pigmentation and sensitivity. Sheila considers local climate — San Mateo’s mild Mediterranean weather and summer marine layer — because humidity and sun exposure influence product choice. She also factors in lifestyle, commute schedules, and family routines to recommend options that fit busy, time-pressed clients in the Baywood/Hillsdale area.
Consultations are busiest in January and September as clients start New Year routines or assess post-summer changes. If you’re planning treatment before an event or after summer, mention timing when booking so we can prioritize product guidance and schedule follow-up treatments or facials that align with your goals.
Preparing for your consultation
Bring your current skincare products or a photo of ingredient labels, a list of medications or allergies, and notes about recent treatments or sensitivities. Sharing photos of areas of concern and your daily routine helps make recommendations practical for commute-driven schedules and family life. This information allows Sheila to tailor products that integrate with your morning or evening routine.
The consultation fee is $30. Appointments are scheduled to fit before or after commutes — convenient to US-101 and Caltrain — and the spa is near Hillsdale Shopping Center with parking nearby. We serve San Mateo and neighboring communities like Burlingame, Foster City, and Belmont; mention your location at booking so we can coordinate follow-up treatments.
